Envirothon Provincials

Alecia I, Bailey G, Madi S, Chelsey G, and Kara M participated in the Envirothon Provincial Competition in Pinawa last
weekend.  This 3-day event, included an outdoor field test, where students tested their environmental science skills and knowledge, after taking part in training sessions put on by experts in the fields of Forestry, Soil Science, Aquatic Ecology, and Wildlife Management.  This was followed by an oral competition where students explored the issues surrounding invasive species.  Madi S won the award for excellence in aquatic ecology.  Although the team did not advance to the finals, they ended up placing 5th overall.  They also had the opportunity to tour the heritage site of the old Pinawa Dam!
