On Wednesday, June 1, Agriculture 30 students visited three livestock farms in the Stonewall area. First, they visited Stonewood Elk farm where they learned about harvesting the velvet from antlers and the elk meat industry. Next, they visited a bison farm where they had the chance to taste bison meat- thanks to Rockwood Bison! Last, they toured Greenwood farm which is a beef feedlot operation, where they learned about custom feed rations. It was a great day, regardless of the muddy conditions. Thanks to Phil Unrau and Janine Souque from Hi Pro Feeds for organizing the field trip!
