Congratulation to the SV Cougar Boys for capturing the MHSAA AA Boys Volleyball Championship on Saturday. Our Cougars defeated the Steinbach Christian Flames in two games in the final. Matthew D and Kole B were named all stars, and Rylan M was named the tournament MVP. Similar to our JV Boys, who won their Provincial banner last week, round robin play was not great for them. They finished in a three way tie for third, and the tie breaking rules awarded them with a third place finish. On Saturday morning they had to face the Warren Wildcats. After beating them in two games, they then had to go against the number 1 ranked Niverville Panthers for a berth to the finals. After falling behind in the first game, the Cougars managed to capture game 1 - 34 - 32. They then won game 2 in less dramatic fashion.
Congratulations to all teams at the tournament. Steinbach Christian for their earning silver, and to Gabrielle Roy for capturing the bronze with a win over Niverville.
