On January 25th, the staff and students wore blue in Support of Bell Canada's "Lets Talk". The school had posters up in support of mental health and everyone was encouraged to use social media and the hashtag #bellletstalk. Bell donated 5 cents from every social media response and $6 585 250 was raised nationally. Brooklyn P. a grade 12 student here at the Collegiate spoke about her experiences during a school wide assembly. The video was posted on FaceBook and has already been seen by over 17 thousand people. We were inspired by her strength and courage and thank her for sharing. Brooklyn reminded us that we are not alone and we need to seek the resources available if we are suffering from an illness. All staff and students are encouraged to find someone to talk to, friends, parents, guidance counsellors, and others in the community. #bellletstalk, #neveralone, #sicknotweak.
