Bell Let's Talk

On January 25th, the staff and students wore blue in Support of Bell Canada's "Lets Talk".  The school had posters up in support of mental health and everyone was encouraged to use social media and the hashtag #bellletstalk.  Bell donated 5 cents from every social media response and $6 585 250 was raised nationally. Brooklyn P. a grade 12 student here at the Collegiate spoke about her experiences during a school wide assembly.  The video was posted on FaceBook and has already been seen by over 17 thousand people.  We were inspired by her strength and courage and thank her for sharing. Brooklyn reminded us that we are not alone and we need to seek the resources available if we are suffering from an illness.  All staff and students are encouraged to find someone to talk to, friends, parents, guidance counsellors, and others in the community.  #bellletstalk, #neveralone, #sicknotweak.  Thanks to Mrs. Rouire, and Mrs. Metcalf for organizing this powerful day.

Bell Let's Talk Day

Wednesday, January 25 is Bell Let's Talk Day.  We would like to support this cause and have all of our students and staff dress in blue for that day.  We will be having a student assembly on Tuesday, January 24 to promote this event.
Remember, Bell will donate 5 cents to Canadian mental health programs for every text message, mobile call and long distance call made by Bell customers; every tweet and Instagram post using #BellLetsTalk; every view of the Bell Let’s Talk Day video on Facebook; and every use of the Bell Let’s Talk geofilter on Snapchat.

Ag Days

On Wednesday, January 18, our grade 8's made their annual trip to the Brandon Ag Days.  While there, our students received a demonstration of the world population and food supply distribution.  They then went on an "amazing race" to answer a variety of agriculture related trivia, find out about the multitude of employment opportunities in the Ag. industry, and got to check out some really cool equipment.  Thank you to our volunteers for helping to supervise during this event.
